Optimization of Dispersion Based Products and Processes by means of the Separation Analyzer LUMiFuge

 

Assessment of the separation behavior of dispersions plays an important role for the optimization of products and processes in many application fields.  Usually determination of the best process parameters is a time consuming procedure. Moreover, analysis methods often break down for concentrated samples. The new separation analyzer LUMiFuge overcomes these disadvantages. Besides a classification of concentrated or diluted dispersions with respect to their separation stability, the LUMiFuge may be employed to investigate the mechanisms underlying the separation behavior as well as the main parameters determining the stability of the samples, i.e. temperature, concentration (additive dosage), pH, particle size, dispersion procedure or formulation.
